A cube class is similar to the math class
When it comes to math, the first thing that comes to mind is boredom. For many
students, math would feel like a subject that solves many problems in workbooks
during their school days. Could mathematics have been influential in human
history for so long if it were just solving problems? At some point, math education
has become a subject that only makes students solve problems. Mathematics has
become the top avoided subject since people treat them as losers if they cannot
solve problems or if they don't solve many problems. When I was teaching at the
academy, our classroom had blackboards on three sides. And I got a great idea.
Whenever it was time to solve the difficult part of the workbook , the students
were grouped with three or four people to discuss and solve that question. I gave
them a certain amount of time to solve the problem. After the discussion, students
wrote down the problem and the process on the blackboard. When they finished,
the person in charge of the group presented it. Then, other groups listened to the
presentation and checked if they made any mistakes during the presentation or
the solving process. They also had some Q&A time. I ran this session with highlevel
questions that students could not answer by themselves. All those questions
were as tricky. If they were an assignment, the teacher might need to explain 90%
of the questions the next day.
But then something amazing happened. Most of students solved the problem
given to each group. The children even told their parents that they loved this
discussion presentation class so much that they wanted to attend a math academy
every day. Mathematics is a discipline that develops the power to think. When the
power of think grows, you can become proud of yourself. I believe that the cube
lesson is the same. If you try to solve the cube, you will repeat mixing the cube,
failing and challenging again. It is cube education that constantly adds thoughts to
thoughts during that process. Just as mathematics aims to solve problems, cubes
aim to solve them. In the meantime, it is education that develops the power of
thought.
I hope you can also fall into a world of three-dimensional objects that have the
pride of growing the power of thought.
The president of the Korea Cube Association
Junho Jang
JJangsaem, Junho Jang, who plays cube.
Starting with the Cube Solution book named JJangsaem’s Cube Classroom in 2011,
specialized in developing, producing and distributing various cube items by planning
educa contents using cubes for the first time in the world. Since 2013, he have trained
many blind by providing chance to study cubing and especially have been running
the business of supp cube education overseas by visiting developing countries. Also,
research on the educat learning the cube easily for everyone like grandparents is his
main area.
Goho Choi, Master of solution
He participated in a number of major cube competitions, including the Asian
Championshi World Championship and especially he broke three Asian records at
the KCRC Competition 2007. Also, he made plenty of the cube solutions by know-how
gained fro years of after school classes and creates & organizes illustration images that
helps peo learn. He is constantly challenging for the developing easy solutions and he
is always w hard in the hope that every people could enjoy the cube.
