“Teacher!!! I solved it!!”
After ten years, I still remember my student kicking the desk with all kinds of
annoyance that the cube was not being solved as he wanted in the first and
second classes and running excitedly to the class the next day with the solved
cube. The joy of solving the cube for the first time seems to be more than any
other joy.
When students can look at books and solve cubes like that, the next challenge is
to make them solve it without looking at the book. Lastly, I teach them how to
solve the cube faster. And I cannot miss the joy of teaching them how to improve
their cube-solving skills.
The 3x3x3 cube advanced method has a step called ‘F2L’, which solves both the
first and second layers. When you solve the cube with beginner’s and enhanced
methods, sometimes, you will see the case when both the first and second layers
get solved. If you look at the process, you can see that the pieces are paired up
in the third layer and moved to the first and second layers. That process is called
‘F2L’; people usually study and practise it to get faster. However, I saw students
who found that they can pair up the pieces on the third layer and paired up those
pieces and moved them to the first and second layers.
Some proud students said, "I found a way to solve both first and second layers!!"
The pride and joy you feel when you discover something by yourself will be
irreplaceable for anything. There are so many ways to get that feeling when
solving cubes, such as finding a new algorithm, different solving methods, solving
a cube that seemed impossible, and so on.
I hope you also fall into this three-dimensional world with the joy of
enlightenment.
The president of the Korea Cube Association
Junho Jang
JJangsaem, Junho Jang, who plays cube.
Starting with the Cube Solution book named JJangsaem’s Cube Classroom in 2011,
specialized in developing, producing and distributing various cube items by planning
educa contents using cubes for the first time in the world. Since 2013, he have trained
many blind by providing chance to study cubing and especially have been running
the business of supp cube education overseas by visiting developing countries. Also,
research on the educat learning the cube easily for everyone like grandparents is his
main area.
Goho Choi, Master of solution
He participated in a number of major cube competitions, including the Asian
Championshi World Championship and especially he broke three Asian records at
the KCRC Competition 2007. Also, he made plenty of the cube solutions by know-how
gained fro years of after school classes and creates & organizes illustration images that
helps peo learn. He is constantly challenging for the developing easy solutions and he
is always w hard in the hope that every people could enjoy the cube.
